Vietnam re-elected to the WIPO Coordination Committee

Intellectual property community in the coming years the world will have to deal with three major challenges is to manage the demand for intellectual property, cultural content posted on the Internet and support developing countries use system of intellectual property on the ability to encourage innovation and creativity of these countries.
Comments were to be presented at the 49th Meeting of the General Assembly of the State Party Organization World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which took place during the day from 26 / 9 to 5 / 10 in the city of Geneva , Switzerland.
With the theme "Encouraging creativity and innovation," the conference attracted the participation of hundreds of delegates from 184 member countries.
Union Ambassador to Vietnam by Vu Dung, Head of the Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and other international organizations in Geneva, led.
Speaking at the conference, Vietnam delegation emphasized the intellectual property is an important tool to help encourage innovation, creativity and motivation for development.Vietnam has committed to work closely with WIPO and the Member States in the field of intellectual property to deal with the challenges that WIPO and will have to face.

Also at this session, Vietnam continues to be elected to the WIPO Coordination Committee of the 2012-2013 term.
On the sidelines of the conference, Vietnam delegation had meetings with the Japanese Patent Office and the Intellectual Property Institute of French national.These meetings have helped open the way to new cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights between Vietnam and France and Japan after a hiatus.
In particular, the delegation of Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Vietnamese Tran Hung, Assistant Minister of Science and Technology, said this is the first cooperation documents signed between Vietnam and the U.S. in the field of intellectual property rights, marking a higher level of cooperation between the two countries in this field.The implementation of this MoU will bring efficiency, support the development of the intellectual property system in Vietnam. /.
